Alexandria
This is the official translation of the findings in the only parchment found in the ruins of what used to be the Greatest Library in the World, the Great Library of Alexandria.
Although Plato may have known the location of Atlantis
And they say that Jesus was perfect
I cannot know those things
There are centuries of knowledge in these halls
And not one of them has the answer to my questions
I’m sure you’ll ask how I know that
Well my questions are of the heart
Mine won’t listen to me
Nor can I seem to speak to others
Of course this makes no sense to you
So let me tell my story
And perhaps that will give me my answers
It was many weeks ago
I was at a gathering of friends
Ale and stories were plentiful
Then came a lady through the doors
She spoke to my heart
Without saying a word
As the night continued
All were of good spirits
And the ale was flowing well
At the end of that wonderful eve
I walked with the affection of my heart
And we came upon her coach
After a brief embrace
My lips met hers
Seemingly hours later we parted
As I began to turn down my bed
I heard a knock at my door
My dream was back, even though I hadn’t slept
And it was this library we spoke of
This hold of knowledge
Yet it was my heart that yearned
And again, my lips were blessed
Sweet rose blossoms on my skin
And it was hours again, when I came back
Then she parted for the eve
And I dreamt of her eyes
Waking in the morn with glee in my face
That was the best night I’ve had in many days
I have spent some time with her since then
And each has been better than the last
It has given me the chance to know her better
And every time I see her
I become more attracted
Now it is closer to the day of Saint Valentine
And I hope to get closer to her
I yearn for her kiss once again
So if you can help me
Or find one who can
When I win her heart
I will be in your debt forever…
