Let Me Die Softly

Let me die softly
the rocks are so jagged
piercing my every breath
as the moon beckons
just over the edge
lingering footsteps keep me still
a game of chance I play here
whispers of a kiss
reminiscent
so I weep the rivers of madnes
moonbeams gather as one
spotlighting a lone figure
standing on the ledge
worn down
and melancholy
breathless passion overwhelming
fog gathers below
seemingly a pillow
if I jump...
let me die softly
regress into my mind
slow sufferance of he heart
swim in the essence of pain
and frolick with the thorns
roses smell even sweeter
mixed with the blood of rain
pray you hear me gentle ocean
let your waves roll over me
with ease
or let the gods of flight
allow me wings
with which to float into abyss
all to just acheive sanity
or at least to numb the thoughts
please
let me die softly.
