Unfairness to a child
full of gift and love
treated cruel
with fists and words of harshness
thrown away from happiness
as she cries herself to sleep
and learns to abandon her Gods
she grows to learn to hate
and harden against the hurt
with fists and words of her own
a runaway without a hope
and suicide fresh in her mind
daddy never existed
and mommy did not care
so she was pushed against the edge
drinking, drugs, and sex
occupied her time
as schoolwork was abandoned
fantasies of murder
soon became all too real
of the ones who'd made her cry
and slowly tears ran down her face
as she pulled the final trigger.
