The Aura of the Night
The water warm
as my suit glides from my body
the lightning strikes closer
and the thunder echoes through the mountains
fading into peaceful night
I silently beg for my freedom
to be amongst my gods
and roam the canyons for always
a gentle rain drops
covering the water with rings of power
I cry aloud in wonder
wanting only to be released
and I cry aloud in happiness
as the white forked tongue of the sky
licks at my body
stealing my pulse and breath
the waves lap at my flesh
greedily asking for more
unsatisfied and wanting
as my heart and soul slip to the stars
and cling forever to the moon
upon a mourning breeze.
